At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the
eleventh month, Maybole came to a halt to remember those who died in
two world wars and other conflicts. At a special Armistice Day
service at the Greenside the oldest branch of the Royal British
Legion Scotland, other local organisations and individuals laid
wreaths and poppy crosses in a token of respect for those who had
lost their lives. The service was conducted by Rev Dave Whiteman
assisted by Fr Jim Hayes. David Hunter of
Maybole branch RBLS
thanked everyone who turned out for the service especially the
pupils of St Cuthbert's Primary and Carrick Academy. Gardenrose and
Cairn Primaries had sent apologies that due to staff illness they
could not attend. |
