The official switching on of Maybole’s Christmas lights took place at the Town Hall Friday November 24 at 5.45pm followed by a children’s disco in the Town Hall. The community council would like to thank Carrick Round Table and local firefighters for their donations which have meant a new feature can be bought. Maybole Community Association and Maybole OIR have contributed to the cost of safety barriers. Christmas Greeting from Maybole.

Santa was once again been invited to visit the town and, led by Maybole Pipe Band, he arrived on his sleigh with Owen McDowall and Amy Strang, current King & Queen of Carrick, and local councillors Brian Connolly and Alan Murray. The disco afterwards was organised by community wardens and members of Dailly Road Tenants & Residents Association.

On Saturday December 2 the Community Association held the annual Christmas Bazaar from 10am till 12 noon. Santa was there with his helpers and the usual stalls run by local organisations.

This year’s 2006 pantomime is “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” which is being presented by the Community Association in association with M & M Theatrical Productions in the Town Hall at 7.30 pm on Friday December 15. Tickets, £3 each are available from Maybole Resource Centre, June’s Flowers in Maybole High Street, or at the door.
