My name is Karen Barclay (nee Paterson) I was a former Citizen of the Year of Maybole many years ago. I was made a Citizen of the Year in Maybole because my swimming achievements put Maybole "on the map" so to speak. I was a Scottish Ladies SpeedTowing Champion as well as a Long Distance sea Racer having set a new record for the Kilgreggan to Gourock race in which I was 2nd over all resulting in me being the first female to be placed since 1936. As far as I am aware, this record still stands.

I am married, have 3 children and am now a grandmother. I am an auxiliary nurse in a surgical department at my local general hospital. I enjoy travelling, photography, computing and singing. I also have a site with some of my travell photos.   Would be nice to have some regular contact with other Minnibolers who are into computers and photography. Karen
