Mr Kerr and Mrs Baillie accompanied Linda Wylie, Elizabeth McJannet,
Hannah McCubbin, Claire McNeillie, Nickola Andrew, Jennifer Andrew,
Lorna Gillis, and Claire McConachie to an Aid’s and HIV conference
in Glasgow on the 29th November. They worked in groups to find out
more about how it is spread and how it’s developing in the less
economically developed countries. They
discussed how people are discriminated against and also learnt the
skills to go back and take lessons on HIV and Aid to assemblies and
PSE classes. They also met a group of peer educators from Malawi who
told of personal experiences and also performed the song’s and
play’s they use to educate the people of Malawi in order to prevent
the spread, as most people in these countries are illiterate. All
had a great day and the lessons are soon to follow.
