Erected by DAVID McLEAN in  memory of his Grandmother SARAH ROY who died 29th January 1871 aged 61.  Also  his uncle ROBERT WHITE who died 4th February 1875 aged 38.  Also his Grandfather DANIEL McLEAN who died 12th July 1880 aged aged 67.

FAMILY HISTORY

FIRST GENERATION

1.  Hugh McLEAN was a Labourer.

  Hugh McLEAN and Elizabeth GRAY had the following children:

            +2                      i.    Daniel McLEAN (born about 1808).

SECOND GENERATION

2.  Daniel McLEAN (Hugh-1) was born about 1808 in Ireland.   He died on July 12, 1880 in In a cab on High Street, Ayr.1  He was a Farm Labourer.  He was buried in Kirkbride Churchyard #44.   Domicile at time of death - 2 Queen Street, St. Quivox.

Sarah McILROY (daughter of Charles McILROY and Rose McMILLAN)  was born about 1806 in Ireland.  She died on January 28, 1871 in Drumbain, Maybole, Ayrshire. 2  She was buried in Kirkbride Churchyard #44.  Daniel McLEAN and Sarah McILROY had the following children:

              3                      i.    Elizabeth McCLEAN was born about 1832 in Ireland.  She was a Farm Labourer.

            +4                     ii.    Mary McLEAN (born about 1834).

              5                    iii.    Charles McLEAN was born about 1836 in Ireland.   He was a Farm Labourer.

              6                    iv.    Sarah McLEAN was born about 1839 in Ireland.

              7                     v.    Rose McLEAN was born about 1842 in Ireland.

THIRD GENERATION

4.   Mary McLEAN (Daniel-2, Hugh-1) was born about 1834 in Ireland.   She died before 1869.  She was a Farm Labourer.

 She was married to Robert WHITE (son of David WHITE and Janet McFARLANE) on June 11, 1869 in Old Drumbain, Maybole, ayrshire. 3  Robert WHITE was born about 1839.   He died before 1869.  He was a Ploughman.
