Minister of this Parish died 21 Jun 1812 in the 73rd year of his age and 42nd of his Ministry whose genuine piety, unbounded charity, benevolence and urbanity gained him the love of his flock; in learning he excelled; in the pulpit he was eloquent yet simple and persuasive and his memory was so tenacious it may be said that he was always a living Concordance of Scripture while to much Christian simplicity he added a natural dignity of character truly becoming to his Sacred office. [Reverse] This monument was erected by a few surviving friends and admirers as a token to posterity of their grateful recollection of his many virtues whose memory it perpetuates.
