There was a good turnout at the public
meeting held in the Town Hall on Thursday evening. TV celebrity Viv
Lumsden, standing in the centre aisle, chaired the meeting which had been
called by NHS Ayrshire & Arran to consult on their review of services. The
most controversial proposal for the people of Maybole is the closure of
the A&E unit at Ayr Hospital and moving it to Crosshouse.
It would be fair to say that this did not meet with the approval of most
people in the Town Hall
