Recently, a major new
community research and consultation project was launched in
Maybole. Around 30 people representing the local Community
Council and main services in the town came together to in
the Town Hall to launch the initiative which is being
supported by South Ayrshire Council, Maybole Community
Council and NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The focus of the
consultation exercise is on finding out more about the
‘assets’ of Maybole. In other words, anyone and anything
that is important in making Maybole a great place to live,
work and visit. It is intended that findings of the
consultation will feed directly into service plans for the
town.
Work on the project is being
led by Glasgow-based research organisation, the Social Value
Lab. Jonathan Coburn, Director of the Lab commented: “This
is a consultation project that will be delivered by Maybole
residents, for Maybole residents. Over the coming months we
will be helping a team of community facilitators to gather
the views and opinions of anyone and everyone that lives
locally.” Jonathan continued, “Work is already underway to
recruit a team of local volunteers to assist in the survey
work, with a fee of up to £200 available to cover time and
expenses. All that is required is local knowledge, basic
confidence, good communication skills. Training will be
provided.

project you can go online to
