I have a silver cup inscribed "The Scottish Professional Golfers Association, Miniature Championship Cup. Presented by Sir Alexander Grant Bt. 1935. I know the names are familiar Maybole people of the era. My uncle John Mc Dowall, was Provost of Maybole at one time and I think James was his brother. The cup was given to me by my cousin Norma (nee Mc Dowall). James McDowall may have been a distant relative of my Uncle John, one time provost. also my cousin says James may also have been at one time a professional at Turnberry. I live in New Zealand and hope to come over later in the year and catch  up with some old haunts and friends. Sincerely Dal Stoddart
