May 28 Dedication of the New Gates to Memorial Park

NEW GATES TO MEMORIAL PARK ARE DEDICATED The new gates to Maybole War Memorial Park are ceremonially pushed open.
Maybole branch of the Royal British Legion (Scotland) march to the drumhead service. Davie Hunter is presented with a medallion by David Kiltie.

June 18 Ecumenical church service at Crossraguel Abbey

CROSSRAGUEL ABBEY UNITED CELEBRATION SERVICE OF THE YEAR 2000. On a day of brilliant sunshine, members of Maybole churches celebrated the year 2000 with a united services at Crossraguel Abbey.

June 24 Gala Pageant

 

Local organisations re-enacted historical scenes.  The Carrick 800 Re-enactment Society took part basing their display around the late 17th century. They set up a civil war living history camp and demonstrated different fighting techniques and weapons of the period culminating in a full battle scenario. Maybole Community Association organised this gala. Historical Theatre were represented through concerts, street theatre and historical playlets. 

The King and Queen of Carrick for 2000 were crowned on gala day, Saturday June 24, 2000. They are Sean Murdoch and Megan Bryson who are Primary 7 pupils at St Cuthbert's Primary School
