MEMBERS of the McWhirter family from Ayrshire have emigrated to the far reaches of the globe over the past four centuries. But their descendants are planning to return home for a family gathering in Ayr in 2003. They are coming from Australia, New Zealand and Canada, as well as from all over the UK for the weekend gathering (June 13-15, 2003). |

PLANS to commemorate the war dead in Maybole have been finalised - and there will be TWO services on Remembrance Sunday, November 11. Representatives of Maybole Community Council, Maybole branch of the Royal British Legion and Maybole Council of Churches have been discussing the arrangements. |
