June 2007 - Gardenrose Primary and  St. Cuthberts school put on performances of "The Wizard of Oz". Mrs Mary Scott, head teacher of Gardenrose primary said, "We have been delighted with the huge success of the production of the Wizard of Oz, by Primary 5 and 6 pupils. "Every single pupil has had a part to play in the production. "The singing, dancing, acting and narration were outstanding. The enthusiasm and the motivation on the part of the children has been has been fabulous. It was wonderful to see the children's confidence grow, as they rehearsed and performed. "This is in no small way thanks to the enthusiasm and energy of Miss Tracey Nelson ( YMI instructor) and the class teachers of P5 and P6 - Ms Andrea Macey Lillie, Mr Gary Laird, Mrs Helen Barker. Support staff helped in many ways including costumes. Mrs.Jackie Shaw, parent, worked on the scenery .Mr. Alex Kelly and helpers, Frazer and Alex, from Carrick Academy, contributed by managing the sound for us. "Looks like it's the West End next!"


Bonjour Ici les enfants de Gardenrose Primary School. The pupils were getting some French instruction from Madame Carey and afterwards school dinners with a French flavour.

May 2007 - Pupils from the nursery class up to P3 at Gardenrose Primary have been taking part in Funky Feet over the past 6 weeks It is part of the Active School project co-ordinated by Graham McCullough who says the pupils have absolutely loved the exercise sessions Instructor is Tara Jackson.

February 2007 - Gardenrose pupils entetained residents of Crosne Street as part of their Burns season Scott Barry played a range of tunes on the bagpipes and the choir, and soloists, delighted the seniors with many Scottish songs and poems. Kayleigh Haggo and Bryony Cuthbertson were celebrating their 8th birthday so everyone sang "Happy Birthday" to them.  By chance Jimmy Bryden was 86 the same day so everyone sang "Happy Birthday" again,
