MAYBOLE is gearing up to stage its own
music festival next year. The suggestion by
Maybole Community
Council has received positive feedback in the town. More than a dozen
groups representing the community association, schools, youth groups and
churches attended an exploratory meeting and said they are in favour of a
festival. |

A PETITION about the potential danger at
the junction of the A77 in Maybole where it meets Ladyland Road and Coral
Glen has been handed to Maybole Community Council. Members of the
council's General Purposes committee discussed the petition last week, and
will be passing copies to local police and South Ayrshire Council. |

PARENTS of pupils and potential
pupils of St
Cuthbert's Primary School in Maybole met last week to discuss the
proposals by South Ayrshire Council about the school's future. Concern was
expressed at the lack of information available and that the actual
proposals had not been seen. Mhairi Murphy, chairperson of the Parents
Association, said afterwards that the parents have now asked for a report
on the plans for the school and for as much information as possible to be
made available. A further meeting will be called in mid January. |
