Carrick visited Birkmyre for the first game of the league season on Saturday. The first half was a scrappy affair with both sides struggling to turn possession and territory into points. Another try was added late on by Grant Alexander to make the final score 27-6 to Carrick who now sit 5th in the West 3 league table after the first round of matches.
