The story of the Peden brothers below was contributed by Diane Moore, descendant of the Peden family of Maybole. "On Remembrance Day, one tends to think first of the young men who gave their lives for Canada in the two great wars. Occasionally we will remember the often-forgotten suffering of others: the parents, wives and sweethearts of the men in action. The mental strain they endured was often cruel and protracted".
